It saddens me that throughout our TVB community and beyond, I have witnessed one too many instances of plagiarism – of fanfictions, of blog entries, and of site designs. How do we put a stop to this all?
A male blogger has stolen episodic summaries from this blog and reposted them without credits. (In fact, summaries are NOT to be reposted, even with crediting.) To be honest, I am not angry. However, I want him to fully understand that this is absolutely wrong. I am not asking him to face any dire consequences. I just want him to stop when there is still time to correct his bad habit. College professors will not be kind. Plagiarized works guarantee a failing grade and a permanent stain in your academic record.
Plagiarists, I implore you to realize the mistakes you’re committing. Your action is disrespectful to both you and I. Embrace and foster your own creativity; stealing mine kills yours.
It’s common sense: plagiarism is a crime, a literary theft. (Click here for reference.) Please stop.

Since Angie (Kenix Kwok) returned after a two-week trip with Marcus (Ray Lui), Hoi Mei’s (Nancy Sit) mood took a sour turn. Despite within the presence of her grandchildren, Hoi Mei does not hesitate to exercise name calling when it comes to Angie. Hoi Mei insists that her only daughter-in-law is Connie (Jamie Chik), rendering Angie’s attempts to pacify her futile.

The tease between Yat Ming (Gallen Lo) and Rene (Anita Yuen) heightened when he informed her of his wish to marry Yan (Sharon Chan). The two shopped for a diamond ring, which was made with the temptation of forbidden fruit as theme. Then, guiding her through his mock proposal, Rene was temporarily mesmerized and almost accepted his ring with a kiss.

Angered with his brother’s schemes, Bo Loi (Kenneth Ma) asked Yat Ming to stop driving Rene mad and leading Yan on. Realizing that Bo Loi was in love with Yan, Yat Ming decided to end his relationship with her. Within Rene’s earshot, he told Yan of his short-lived yet unforgettable romance. To further agitate Rene, Yat Ming told her directly that he had a romance that cannot be accepted with conventions, but he longed to be with her everyday; he would be satisfied to remain forever single to look after and care for her. In a desperate attempt to stop Yat Ming from furthering, Rene slapped him…

In other news, Yat Ming got Hoi Mei’s (Nancy Sit) approval and collateral to build his resort in Sabah. On the other hand, Topman (Joe Ma) and Connie (Jamie Chik) joined Wong Ho, Cosmo’s rising competitor.

I’ll tell the world
Though the medium reads, Jesus says (*)
Even in the darkest days
Someone’s writing on the wall (*)
I guess that says it all
Present the king of kings
In the mist of everything
Spinning as the world goes round
I wanna to hear that soundChorus:
Do you wanna know?
That I love you so?
I’ll tell the world
Your love is all I need
I’ll tell the world
The truth my heart receives
I’ll tell the world
You shine your light on me
Everyone will know
That I love you soI’ll tell the world
There’s a new millennium of fear
Our fate is tested here
There’s a danger in every direction
Even in the world’s perfection
Present the king of kings
In the mist of everything
Spinning as the world goes round
I wanna hear that sound//Repeat chorus

Worried of her father’s whereabouts, Angie (Kenix Kwok) searched frantically for him and ended up in a car crash. Concerned for her well being, Marcus (Ray Lui) at once dashed to her side, ignoring the conference that would announce his successor for the position of CEO and chairman of Cosmo Bank. Meanwhile, policemen located Chuk Sir’s body and declared a fishing accident led to his death.

As COO, Yat Ming (Gallen Lo) helped financed a growing mall in Sabah, Malaysia and was invited to attend its anniversary ceremony. Though he came with Yan (Sharon Chan) and Steward (Benz Hui), he left alone with Rene (Anita Yuen) on a sightseeing tour. Sparks reignited and Rene once again found herself confused in love.
Warning: Not for the faint of heart
flor.a from SFY sent along a lovely greeting card that features our beloved Born Rich cast. Quite an accurate depiction, don’t you think?
I hope Santa is not offended. But judging from his jolly countenance and trademark “Ho Ho Ho”, we can be rest assured of his good humor.
I have contacted Ms. Tiu de Haan regarding her song Elegy and she kindly replied:
Hi Nhi,
Thank you for your lovely email!
You are very kind to write and I’m glad you love the song. I do too!I’m afraid I’m not permitted to send it to you as it is not commercially available – I was just the singer on a session about 5 years ago for composer and producer Henry Jackman. It was for a library company so they control the rights as far as I know and it’s never been made available other than through media companies wanting to use it on air.
I’m sorry not to be the bearer of happier news but I keep getting emails from people who want a copy and I can’t really be held responsible for it being shared out there in the world as I’ll get in trouble – which is a shame as it is a great track! You can hear it (but not download it) on my myspace page if that’s any help – http://www.myspace.com/tiudehaan – there’s an ipod on the right of the screen about halfway down with various things I’ve done. Elegy is track 2.
Happy Christmas and sorry not to be of more help!
Take care and thanks again for writing.
Tiu
Below is the very iPod she spoke of; Elegy is track two:

When I am laid
I’m laid in the Earth
May my wrongs create no sorrow
No sorrow in your heart.//Repeat
Remember me. Remember me.
Don’t forget my face.
Remember me.
Don’t forget my face.//Repeat

Whenever I ask
When, how, and where
You always tell me
Perhaps, perhaps, perhapsAnd so the days go
And I despair
And you, you, answer
Perhaps, Perhaps, perhapsYou’re wasting your time
Thinking, thinking
For the love you want
Even if, even whenAnd so the days go
And I despair
And you, you answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhapsSiempre que te pregunto
Que cuándo cómo y dónde
Tú siempre me respondes
Quizás, quizás, quizásY así pasan los días
Y yo desesperado
Y tú, tú, contestando
Quizás, quizás, quizás,Estás perdiendo el tiempo
Pensando, pensando
Por lo que más tú quieras
Hasta cuando, hasta cuandoY así pasan los días
Y yo desesperado
Y tú, tú contestando
Quizás, quizás, quizás
